“The Forgotten Ones”

The lesson we have discussed is about Critical Commentary and on this day, April 04, 2023, I made the learners read a creative nonfictional text for them to create a critique paper to. The title of the text is “The Forgotten Ones” and I also photocopied some copies for them as it is the only means I can think of for them to have a closer reading of the literary text.

During my morning class, after handing out the copies, some of them immediately went on to read while some of them didn’t even give attention to the paper so I had to intervene. I took the copy and placed it in front of that student making him kinda pissed so he grabbed the paper, turned their back against me and began to read. Half hour passed by, they all finished reading and are beginning to be a mess so instead of just doing nothing, I required them to so their drafts. Some did and some didn’t.

During my afternoon class, they also did just like what the other section did. They went on to reading but some of them are on their phone. I also had them write a draft to which they thankfully did.

It is a hassle to manage a class who has nothing to do because they won’t be manageable and it is also hard to manage a class who has a lot to do because they wouldn’t care for what you will be telling them.
