On April 27, 2023, I had the opportunity to finally observe my Cooperating Teacher in her actual teaching.
The times I am in the public school was at first spent with me observing my fellow Student-Teacher as my CT was always busy running errands, and processing cases under child protection in the school. During this time, I understood how huge of a deal IMs are. I saw the entirety of the blackboard covered with IMs and there is still a TV with the PowerPoint presentation to back it up.
It is then that day that I realized, I don’t know how on Earth am I gonna do all that work. In addition to IMs, I also saw how she managed the class and I can’t help but refer back to my CT back in the private school. I saw a huge difference when it comes to delivery and then I again asked myself, can I still apply the advices I got from my private school CT in this environment?
At the end of the day, I am dealing with a new environment so it is advisable for me to adapt to their way of learning and teaching. There are still advices from my previous CT that I can apply here but in the end, the rules here shall be followed.
