Deadlines are the only motivation to do a requirement. I don’t know if this is true but sometimes it works. We need a deadline for us to do our work.
That’s what I noticed on April 25, 2023 when I was assigned to the second section of Grade 12. I entered the classroom attempting to also make them check their papers but it seems like they’re busy doing stuff here and there. I thankfully managed to capture their attention when I distributed the exam papers for checking. I think the checking went well and the time was spent well.
That afternoon, I again went back to the second class for the day and they asked me “anong gagawin”?. I then relayed the activity assigned to them by their subject teacher and I am surprised to realize that they didn’t know what I am talking about. In the end, I explained briefly what the memoir is about and some started to write but some just slept.
3:15 pm, my fellow ST from another school asked me for a favor to watch over a student whose having an exam. Or more like he will retake the exam. I went outside the classroom with the student and he finished his exam on time fortunately.
While watching over the student, I am taken back to the time when I was once in his situation because I wasn’t able to take the test on that day, our difference however is that, in his case, a Student Teacher was on his watch buy in my case, it is my older cousin who at that time was an officer and my adviser trusted him so my exam was not full of tension.
