I am reflecting right now on some things and that is, what if I was born normally? Could it be that I am also one of the people who got to be busy? Pressured? Tired? If only I am born normally without any defects in my physical body, then I could’ve joined events.
It is the first day of the University week and I am staying at the office of The Marian as I wait for the street dance competition. The office is busy as they are updating the social media on the events. Finally, the most awaited event begin and I got the privilege to watch it at the balcony of the A building. However, because I cannot see literally anything on the oval apart from colors, I used one of my friend’s camera, as usual. Afternoon came and we were now at the volleyball court to update on the competition. I enjoyed the game but I didn’t enjoy the fact that I was standing the whole time.
Tuesday marks the second day and again, I was tempted to go to the JHS campus instead as my companion can cover the events herself but then, I thought, “I don’t have anything to do at the campus”. In the end, I asked permission from my CT that I won’t be at the campus. I also asked for any task I could assist with. The volleyball game went on and this time, we have chairs so it is not tiring. I also got the opportunity to watch the track and field competition which is also not enjoyable to be because I can only see the runners coming to the finish line. If only I can see them run around the oval then that would be nice.
Wednesday morning, I woke up not feeling good as my stomach is hurting badly. Maybe because I ate tons of food that night before. I wasn’t able to attend during the morning and I just rest instead. That afternoon, I fortunately spotted an unoccupied bench at the volleyball court so I sat there to watch the fifth match of volleyball women.
Thursday, the fourth day kicked off with the hataw to which I honesty enjoyed. After that, I stayed for the whole duration of the half day at the RT building because it is so hot and I don’t know where to go or what to watch.I planned to check on the debate but one of my cousins sent me a copy of what I assume is a movie analysis and asked me for help so I did. Then I didn’t realize while watching that it is already lunch time. That afternoon, I am again at the volleyball court. It is the battle for third place and after that, the championship. One of the players of the other team actually went down as she was knocked out of air when her stomach hit the ground hard. The game still went on and on the fourth set, another player from the same team had the same issue making me think, that maybe they’re really exhausted as they’ve been playing since 1:30 and it is already 5 pm.
Friday, the last day is when I finally don’t have to go back to the volleyball court and they announced that there will be no attendance for the afternoon as they are now finalizing the scores to determine the overall champion. Of course, I’m rooting for my school to win because they’ve been on the lead for some time but I couldn’t deny that they are threatened by the second placer as they’re catching up quickly. In the end, the gymnasium erupted in cheers as the overall champion was announced and my school didn’t win as they’re four points behind.
Overall, the university week was fun and all but maybe because I wasn’t able to experience everything, I will still say that my University week from my Senior High School days till when I was in second year college is better. The event this year is also great tho but maybe I’m just missing the old times when I am still with my older friends.
